{"id":595,"date":"2011-07-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-07T21:34:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cushla.spooky-possum.org\/wordpress\/?p=595"},"modified":"2024-12-31T15:59:16","modified_gmt":"2024-12-31T02:59:16","slug":"passion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cushla.spooky-possum.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/2011\/07\/23\/passion\/","title":{"rendered":"Passion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Lauren Kate<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><em>Random House<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Otago Daily Times, July 23rd 2011<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">At first glance, Lauren Kate\u2019s <em>Passion<\/em>  fits perfectly into a genre for which I have little time and even less patience: Single-word title, gothically beautiful woman emblazoned on the front, font that fits just 10 words per line and a tag-line describing it as a \u2018pulsating thriller with streaks of passionate romance.\u2019  Oh, and did I mention that the <em>Fallen<\/em> series, of which it is the penultimate volume, is being marketed as the next <em>Twilight<\/em> (with a Disney movie to follow)? I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find the novel features both an interesting plot and comparatively hyperbole-free writing style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Central to the story is Daniel (one of seven fallen angels who hold the balance of power between Heaven and Hell) and the mortal Lucinda (Luce for short just in case you missed the symbolic significance). Perfect soul mates, they are fated to be forever separated by love; the mortal Luce consumed by Daniel\u2019s immortal passion and reincarnated only to die in his arms once more.\u00a0 Only now the pattern has shifted, and Luce has discovered a way to travel back through her past lives.
