My name is Cushla McKinney and I am a Dunedin-based scientist with over 20 years experience in research and teaching at the University of Otago. My areas of interest include cancer biology, and the genetics of complex disease. In addition to holding a PhD in Biochemistry, a Masters in Bioethics and Health Law, and a Masters’ of Genetic Counselling through the University of Technology Sydney.
Outside of work and study, I am a voracious reader and have been reviewing books for my local paper, the Otago Daily Times, for over two decades.
This website is a collection of work I have published over the course of my personal and professional life. I hope some of it interesting, thought provoking or entertaining.
